Last week, Sydney and I went around New Pal with Matt asking the businesses for donations. We had emailed a lot of the businesses prior to last week and only got two responses. One from Barrel Racing Baristas and one from Axe Head Threads. We printed off a bunch of flyers to hand out to the businesses and Matt had business cards with contact info on them. We picked up sponsorship checks from Axe Head and American Family Insurance. We went to Subway, Tia's, Tony D's, Starbucks, Frey, and Barrel Racing. They all said they would pass the information along to managers and see what they could do. Then Matt took Sydney and I out for lunch at Tia's!! The Matt Hayden Foundation Trivia night fundraiser is SOLD OUT!!!
We had three levels of sponsors: Gold🥇 - Bell Mortuary and Crematorium, American Family Insurance, John Lytell, Dynamic Legacy Planning, Hancock Health, Fulkerson Grand Children, Margie Bartnick Silver🥈 - Catch the Shot Photography, Axe Head Threads, German Church Road Family Dentistry Bronze🥉 - Coop's Carpet Cleaning, Team Image, YNOT Pizza Food & Beverage Sponsor: The New Pal Pub

We have been in contact with Lori and Matt. Sydney met with them again last week. We got access to their website and have made some changes/upgrades. We created a new flyer for the Trivia night. It is better laid out and easier to read. We also have access to the Facebook page and we created an Instagram page for the foundation. The flyer is posted on both of those platforms to help get the word out. We updated the website to look more appealing, including changing the background color and editing the layout. We also changed the button for paying to read "Pay Here" instead of just donate. It appeared to be confusing for people trying to purchase a table or sponsorship for the trivia night. We want to make the process as simple and streamlined as possible so we also wrote a guide on how to pay for trivia night versus donating to the foundation to hopefully make that more clear. We added a separate button at the top with a link to the trivia night page. Lori had a meeting with the MHF board last night and sent Sydney and I an email with more info. There was some website specific things that we need to update as well as a list of all of the businesses we should ask for donations for the auction. We are planning to go to some of the places to ask for donations before spring break to hopefully get on the minds of some of the businesses.
On Wednesday Sydney and I met with Matt and Lori Hayden about their foundation. They had a successful Trivia night fundraiser in the fall and are planning another one for May 3rd. We are going to assist with the advertisment and promotion of this event. We are also going to see if we can collect donations from businesses for a silent auction at the event. They need a lot of donations to make this event possible. We are looking to have 8-12 baskets available for the silent auction. We will need to create the actual baskets and get the estimated real value of them all. The goal is for it to be even more successful than the one in the fall. They raised around $10,000 the first time. We are creating an Instagram account so that the advertisment of this event will hopefully reached a broader audience and draw in a more diverse crowd. Some of our plans for advertising are to post on social media, put up flyers around Hancock County as much as we can, as well as around the schools. Sydney is currently working on designing an updated flyer for the event.
